DUO Restaurant & Lounge

DUO Restaurant & Lounge is located on Northwestern Highway in Southfield, MI. It's owners, Suhel Kizi, Danny Foumia, and Ricky Manjo dedicated much of their money, time, and effort to open this beautiful restaurant and lounge in late August of 2011. Their menu consists of  a great variety of appertizers from meats to veggies to seafood made their own special way. I must say my all time favorite, first thing to order once I take a seat, is their delicous YUM YUM shrimp. This shrimp is cooked to perfection, first fried in their own batter, then smothered in a creamy, sweet and spicy sauce that I like to call " Firecracker" sauce; but of course this is just a starter when coming to DUO.
Dining Area

The atmosphere when walking in, is definitely a "high class" lounge feel. In the front is where the Bar area and lounging is held.On the weekends bartenders put on nice fireshows for the audience while pouring the drink of their choice. Having a wide selection of mixed drinks is definitely one thing this " chillin' " joint has. The weekend nightlife consists of a melting pot of people from all different ages and races. A DJ playing all types of sexy beats definitely gives the crowd a great vibe to attain throughout the night. It is usual that a group of buddies or girls always end off their night of drinking with a filling bite to eat.
DUO Vineyard Salad
By dining at DUO, you're definitely killing two birds with one stone, and it is worth your while. Chef John Del Proposto has been with DUO lounge from the start and has given his loyal customers nothing but pure satisfaction. An entree considered to be a DUO favorite would definitely be the Zip Chicken Pasta. This pasta contains mushroom, brocolli, carrots, mixed with the DUO zip alfredo sauce, topped with grilled DUO chicken. Mighty tasty and Might filling. If you were looking for something on the lighter side DUO's salds, along with they're other food, is made with the freshest produce and all homemade salad dressings. A favorite of mine would be the DUO Vineyard, which is shown in the picture. It contains dried cherries, candied walnuts, blue cheese, strawberries, and green apple, tossed in a raspberry vinagerette. Also good to add chicken breast or a healthy piece of salmon. Lastly, a good meal is never to its best potential without a little desert. The Ice Cream Pie is a savory bite for the sweet tooth and also goes amazing with a cup of hot tea containg vanilla and chocolate ice cream with a caramel swirl and an oreo crust. For looks on pricing and directions, I have posted the link to the DUO restaurant and lounge website located below.

FRONT PAGE DELI

Front Page Deli
EXTRA! EXTRA! EAT all about it! ~Front Page Deli specializes in deli sandwiches, soups, salads, all beef Vienna hotdogs, and good old fashioned hamburgers.Believe it or not, there is one hell of a desert section. Front Page was established in 2009 by current owner Marcos Kiminia. Its original location is located on 10 mile and Greenfield in Oak Park, MI and is currently expanding to other areas around the metro-Detroit area. Warren, MI is now another current Front Page Deli location. Front Page's slogan is " Make it BIG, or don't make it at all", an obvious way of saying our sandwiches are humungous! Although many may think that quantity takes away from the quality, I assure you that is not the case here. All of the piled beef on every sandwich is quality beef and might tasty. There are many assortments of meat one can choose from along with many assortments of breads and cheeses. Front Page is mostly known for their mouth watering home-made corned beef. The corned beef is made fresh daily and cured with Marcos' secret recipe. (I'll get it out of him one day.) The amazing factor about this fine piece of meat, is that it literally melts in your mouth. The beef is so tender and delicious I wouldn’t eat corned beef from anywhere else. If your stomach is too small to handle one of Marcos' big boy sandwiches there's always the option of ordering a half sandwich which is half the meat.
Chicago Dog

If you're not in the deli sandwich mood there is definitely alot more you have to choose from including an all amaerican all-beef Vienna hotdog. FPD's dogs are cooked to perfection with a nice snap to every bite. Toppings include choices of  chilli, cheese, onions, relish, pickle spear, tomato, sport pepper, jalepenos, coleslaw, ketchup, and mustard. There is definitely a tie for the best dog that FPD serves. We got the detroiter, standard coney with chilli onions and mustard( gotta love it), and the Chicago Dog, pickle spear, mustard, ketchup, onion, relish, jalepenos, sport pepper. It's usually a tough decision on which one I should get, so I pick both. It is like being in Chi-town and Detroit city at the same time. The burgers are also a great way to go if your'e in the mood. i like to make mine breakfast style.....bacon and egg!

The Headliner

From all the great eats Front Page has to offer, I must say that my favorite sandwich is the Front Page Special. The Front Page Special is a hot corned beef sandwich topped with Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw usually served on an onion roll or rye bread. It's my usual at Front Page along with a side of their delicious sweet potato fries and a satisfying piece of savory strawberry cheesecake. Boy oh boy that cheesecake tastes like it came from the Cheesecake Factory. Oh and you can't forget the Detroit classic, Faygo Red Pop. If you're ever in the mood for some top dollar corned beef or even just in the area it's highly reccomended you swing on by there. They also offer catering for offices, parties, gatherings, or any other event you might need them. You can also check them out at their website, http://eatfrontpage.com/, where you can download a full view of their menu and specific directions to the location.

Hope you enjoyed this week's delicious feature, catch up next week where I'll post a lounge where you can sit back, have a drink while of course grubbin' on some good eats.
